Lab 33. Half-Day Unplugfest! focuses on how to build a canopy network using IBM Bluemix. In this lab, your instructor has already built that canopy network. You will learn how to use it. |
The Smart Building Canopy
The canopy network consists of a number of single SmartMesh IP networks network deployed throughout in your building, all connected to the IBM Watson IoT platform.
IBM Watson IoT itself runs as a service in IBM Bluemix, the cloud service operated by IBM.

- attach sensors to your motes
- deploy the motes in your building; they join the canopy network
- create your own account on IBM Bluemix and start a Node-RED instance which runs continuously
- build a web interface using Node-RED
